The process of the Grand Floridian Mary Poppins paintings I did for my bestie 🩷 The originals on the wall in our hotel room that she fell in love with I started by doing a quick mini version in a sketchbook to test colours. I also hadn't picked up watercolour paints in a very long time - they've also never been my strongest medium so I needed some practice! Then onto the base layers of paint on canvases after sketching out the shapes. I worked in so many light layers of paint on these as I didn't want to make any monumental mistakes Slides 6 and 7 are where I really felt the pieces coming together and I knew I wasn't far all adding the final detail layers I used a white acrylic marker during the final stages at add back in the white highlights. Everything else was watercolour I finally sealed the paintings with a glossy spray fixative to protect the pieces from any light damage over time I'm very happy with how they turned out and more importantly so happy that Em loved them! 🩷

It's been a long old time since I picked up a paintbrush, but I knew I wanted to replicate these paintings that were in our room in the Grand Floridian Hotel in Florida for my best friend as soon as she saw them! Nobody is a bigger fan of Mary Poppins than her. Happy birthday Em 🩷
